Dear All,

I would like to share with you a few pre-reading assignments for our time together in Amsterdam.

Monday, you will be joined by Jason Hunter speaking to Value Innovation. In preparation, Jason asks you to read the HBR article, The 5 Requirements of a Truly Innovative Company. (HBR allows access for up to 8 articles free each month. Simply, register on their site for free online reading or download of this article. If you had difficulty with this last time, please send me a note and I will assist.)

Your coaching team asks you to read pages 5-9 of the Leadership Circle Profile Interpretation Manual (see separate link). You will want to download the full manual to have for reference during the week. We will provide a general overview and group profile as example to understanding your data in class. Your graph and full report will be provided on Tuesday afternoon and a debrief thereof will serve as the primary focus of your coaching session in Amsterdam. Should you have any restrictions on scheduling your coaching sessions during the week, please advise asap.

Related to the LCP, please read Robert Kegan and Lisa Lahey’s HBR article The Real Reason Why People Don’t Change. The article addresses one’s ‘Immunity to Change’ in terms of competing commitments and hidden assumptions that run counter to our internal change initiatives. Anil will speak further to this during his Tuesday morning session.

Finally, Cam and Nick Ross will introduce Leading in Times of Uncertainty and ask that you read the following prior to Friday’s session:

Leading in Uncertain Times: Leadership Characteristics of the Self-Transforming Mind

In the Shadow of VUCA: A Call for Soul and Sanctuary in Corporate Leadership

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind Regards, Pam
